Project Overview: Inspired by a closed museum in Aurora, Illinois, the African American Heritage Museum concept envisions funding to continue founder Dr. Smith's vision of celebrating African American history and culture.
Objective: The rebrand aimed to modernize the African American Heritage Museum with a complete overhaul of its identity, including colors, messaging, logo, and aesthetic, resonating with the African American community.
Design Strategy: The African American Heritage Museum's new branding merges Marcus Garvey's and the Rastafarian Pan-African flag colors, symbolizing black pride. Its logo integrates Adinkra symbols, including the symbol for knowledge, intertwined with "AAHM" to represent the museum.
